currently obsessed / topshop sweaters

i have decided that i need more sweaters in my life. like right now. i just discovered these ones from nordstrom (they're all topshop brand), and they actually aren't too expensive. which is your favorite?

ps. how much do you love the combination with all of those fun shorts. i'll take a pair of each please!

currently obsessed / fancy fur

fur has been on my radar for the past few years, and it doesn't seem to be fading. i have loved my fur coats, vests, and scarves, and keep adding to my collection. this weekend i discovered some awesome and cheap faux fur options at h and m, and had to indulge myself in getting one. here are a few of my favorites from around the web:

1. i'm calling this one the 'colorfur'. i have never seen anything more perfect. just don't look at the price. get it here.

2.  this is a much cheaper option from h&m (only $30!). i love that it is a kind of sweatshirt style glamified with grey fur. get it here.

3. the 'rochelle' fur coat from anthro adds an interesting twist with a striped shaggy fur. get it here

4.  a fur vest in my favorite color? yes please! get it here.

this is the jacket i got from h&m. it is super cozy and perfect for fall days. i love that it is a little different than my other fur items, which are mostly brown. i plan to wear this a ton this winter!

get it here.

currently obsessed / jalapeño lime pesto

i tried a new recipe last night for some delicious pizza. i marinated and pan seared chicken, made the pesto , cut all the veggies... all by myself. which doesn't make me sound that amazing- but considering that i hardly ever cook and when i do i make jarman do most of the work, it was a major feat. the sauce for the pizza is a jalapeño lime pesto, and i cannot stop eating it. i made a second batch today and put it on a chicken wrap with fresh corn, black beans, tomatoes, and leftover chicken (basically a wrap version of the pizza from last night). tomorrow i am planning to make a pasta salad with the pesto as the dressing. we have even been dipping tortilla chips in it. it's just that delicious.

here is the recipe for the pesto, you should go make it this second and put it on anything edible, you won't regret it.

Spicy Cilantro Lime Pesto

• 1 bunch of fresh cilantro
• 2 1/2 Tbspn toasted walnuts (i used raw pine nuts)
• 1/4 Cup extra virgin olive oil
• 5 garlic cloves
• zest of 2 limes
• juice of 2 limes
• 1 jalapeño seeded (leaving seeds in will make it hotter)
• 1/4 Cup grated parmesan cheese

Combine all ingredients into blender, pulse until smooth consistency.

currently obsessed / freaks and geeks

why did no one tell me about this show? have you guys heard of it? it is a high school 'dramedy' about the kids on the periphery trying to figure out their ways. the show is set in 1980. it is also one of the first acting jobs for seth rogen, jason segel, and james franco. yes, young james franco is in the show. if that doesn't make you want to watch it then i don't know what will. for some reason the show only ran for one season in 1999. i am halfway through it and can't get enough, and am anticipating major withdrawals once i finish. (it's sad how addicted to shows i get, i don't usually like to admit it). i love seeing this group of actors who grew up to make the best movies- although they are mostly inappropriate (i have to throw this in for my sisters, do not watch any of their movies, do as i say not as i do). the show is now on netflix for those of you who need something to fill the void until all of the fall shows start again (one more week).

also, vanity fair did a few articles on the show at the beginning of this year. check this one out. i guess i am not the only one who is late to the party.

currently obsessed / urban outfitters maps

it's taking everything i have to not go out and buy every single one of these map posters. i honestly can't decide which i love the most: the scratch off world map where you can track where you've been? the new york metro map? the northeast map? (just because we are living here for the moment.) they are all so cute and would add so much to an office, playroom, living room... really any room would do better with a map. currently i own two maps, one of the world and a vintage one of london. someday i want to have a wall dedicated to maps, probably in my office, and it will probably have each of these urban outfitters ones.  also, check out their map tapestries if you want the whole wall to be covered in a giant map. which i would also love to have.
