we are still part of the believers that you don't start decorating for christmas until after thanksgiving. which means that we don't finish decorating for christmas until like the 15th and only have ten good days to revel in the glory

jay's room was one of the first things i finished in our house when we moved in over 1.5 years ago. i did a few different posts back then (my inspiration, it's finished!). i didn't change many of the big details of the room, just the
bobette has been working on a few bedrooms in this amazing house in emerald bay of laguna beach. the house was designed in the 80's by a couple who loved boats and tried to make the house resemeble the inside of a ship.
bobette decided to completely redo sydney's room so she would have something fresh and fun to come home to after her mission. she wanted to go for an anthro vibe and started out by painting my old shabby chic cream metal bedframe a bright coral color. next we added
this is a little master bedroom makeover that bobette worked on over summer. before she got started the walls were dark and there was intense drapery everywhere. she helped to lighten and brighten the place making it a fun and happy room.
we are continuing on a tour of bobette's house with the family room. this room is definitely the room that we hang out in and relax in the most. we love the big comfy couch and always use the cozy fireplace in the winter.
i'm slowly working on updating reality and retrospect- we are making some exciting changes around here! if you've been reading for a while you know that most posts have something to do with my mom, bobette. we pretty much work together on everything we do- my phone is filled with pictures that we have sent back and forth with each project we are doing.
so as i was shooting my house for the rue magazine feature i was completely embarrassed by my kitchen. i didn't send in any pictures of it because there was nothing special about it! i got super motivated to work on it and make it semi-liveable. see my plans for the kitchen makover in this post.
