tropical boho baby shower

a couple of month's ago i co-threw a shower for one of my best friends, kira. it was recently featured on 100 layer cake and i wanted to share some of the photos over here!

we rented a tent for the shower which made it amazing to begin with. we wanted to make low tables so we used upside down terra cotta pots with ikea table tops on top. underneath we placed drop cloths with rugs and pillows to make it more comfortable for guests (though let's be honest, sitting on the ground is not the most comfortable thing ever!)

we, of course, wanted kira to feel like a pregnant goddess so we created a throne for her to sit in the middle of the room. we use that awesome bamboo chair that bobette found at a thrift store. above the seat we had loren of four things paper water color a sign that said 'baby mama'- it may have been my favorite part of the whole shower.

we made the last minute decision to add in palm fronds as a backdrop and they made such a statement. luckily kira and nicole's dad had plenty of palm trees that needed clips so we strapped them up and used them throughout the shower.

nicole made little terrariums as the party favor for all of the guests to take home. we lined the tables with palm fronds and the same dip dyed runners that we used for her wedding tables.

ummmm is she gorgeous or what? and that flower crown was a show stopper!

we made a acai bowl bar that was delicious and adorable.

nicole made the cutest naked cake that we topped with flowers and jasmine vine.

we also had a flower crown bar for guests to make their own crowns.

i'm so excited for kira to have a baby and am so glad that it's a boy! jay needs more guy friends:)
